Under the guidance and by the inspiration of His Divine Holiness Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj, Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan - North America hosted first and second dose COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Community Hall in Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Secaucus, New Jersey.

The Secaucus temple partnered with Rite Aid and United States Health and Human Services to administer over 300 Pfizer vaccinations to members of our local community and congregation.

The first vaccination camp was held on March 6, 2021, and the second doses were then administered on March 21, 2021 to complete the CDC-recommended full vaccination series for COVID-19. Volunteers from the Secaucus temple supported front line healthcare workers from Rite Aid throughout the event, assisting with signups, distributing PPE, and providing logistical support.

Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj, who Himself has received the vaccine in India, posted an encouraging video to the worldwide Hindu community in which He said,

“To prevent further spread of the disease and to reduce the number of deaths, it is necessary to take the vaccine. It is essential to take the COVID-19 vaccine to protect ourselves, so that the whole world can be healthy.”

Shree Swaminarayan Temple Secaucus, New Jersey plans to hold additional vaccination clinics as subsequent phases of vaccination are rolled out.

It is by the mercy of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj that vaccines have become available, and our temples are able to play a role in vaccinating members of our local communities and ensuring their safety.
