Accepting the humble prayers of the devout disciples of the United States of America, Acharya Swamishree arrived at New Jersey’s Newark Airport on the evening of 27th May 2005.
Representative devotees welcomed Acharya Swamishree at the airport, after which, He travelled to Shree Swaminarayan Temple, in Secaucus, where thousands of devotees were eagerly awaiting for Acharya Swamishree to arrive and bestow His divine darshan.
A grand procession was held from the start of the Temple complex, led by the newly formed Pipe Band of the Temple.
The welcoming procession led Acharya Swamishree into the main Temple Hall, where He performed aarti to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, before retiring to rest, after a journey lasting 30 hours.
On Saturday 28th May, a special welcoming assembly was held at the Temple. Devotees joyously celebrated the arrival of Acharya Swamishree to their home. In addition, this was the day the Acharya Swamishree manifested on the earth, exactly 63 years ago.
As part of the celebrations, young devotees performed traditional Indian devotional dances. Cakes were also offered to the Lord, which had been specially prepared by the devotees for the occasion. Young children also prepared their own family trees, and presented these to Acharya Swamishree. A panel of judges then chose the best three decorated cakes and the best family trees, and prizes were then awarded to the children who made them.
