Shree Swaminarayan Jayanti celebrations for Lord Shree Swaminarayan's 238th manifestation day commenced on Saturday, April 13th at Shree Swaminarayan Temple - Secaucus, New Jersey. This year, disciples participated in a 2 hour dhoon on Saturday afternoon. Disciples sang a variety of hymns accompanied by musical instruments throughout the dhoon to celebrate Lord Shree Swaminarayan's 238th manifestation day. The dhoon concluded after the divine idol of Lord Shree Swaminarayan was carried into the temple hall and rested on the ornate hindolo. As part of the procession, many food items, including cakes, were offered to the Lord. Disciples then performed pragatya aarti before listening to His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree's divine ashirwad.
Children made an extra effort to celebrate Lord Swaminarayan's manifestation day by putting on a religious drama. It was a great success, as young disciples demonstrated their knowledge and provided entertainment on a festive day. Disciples then performed a special utsav during which overzealous disciples danced and rejoiced. The program concluded with aarti and niyams, after which disciples enjoyed dinner prasad.
