Makar Sankranti is a great Hindu festival celebrated by Hindus all over the world. It is an auspicious day to give alms to the needy, the returns of which are thousand folds.
It falls on the 14th January of every year. It is also considered as the festival of kites. On this day, the skies are full of colourful kites. Jalebee and Undhiyu is the special dish of this auspicious day.
Young kids at Swamibapa Temple celebrated this day on 14th January 2020 by flying colourful kites in the company of sants and devotees. The temple was fully decorated with kites of various shapes, sizes and colours. During the evening katha congregation, the highly talented sants from India gave a thorough explanation of the origin and benefits of this auspicious day.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
