Gadi Granth Parayan Purnahuti & Acharya Swamiji Maharaj's Divine Ashirwad - 28th August 2023

The evening sabha on Monday 28 August commenced with Sandhya Aarti and Niyams at 6pm followed by Kirtan Bhakti and a reading of the Swaminarayan Gadi Granth.

In Gnan Mahodadhi Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj's Divine Ashirwad today, He explicated that Lord Shree Swaminarayan explains that He is not truly attained by all the means of attaining salvation, such as mastering the eight fold yoga, attaining the sankhya philosophy, performing austerities, renouncing everything in this world, visiting sacred sites of pilgrimage, observing religious days, performing yagnas, donating alms, etc. But He is acquiesced by someone who becomes a true Satsangi.

The Lord further explained the characteristics of such an ardent disciple. Firstly, they consider a Sant (Satpurush) to be their own (have aatma-buddhi towards Him). That closeness is described by the Lord - it is stronger than the closeness between a king and his son, after that king has spent years trying to have children, and has finally had a son at the age of 60.

Secondly, they have a stronger sense of “mine” for a Satpurush, than they have for their own family members (have potaa-buddhi towards Him).

Thirdly, they have the same divine sentiments for a Satpurush as they do for the Murti of God (have pujya-buddhi towards Him).

Fourthly, they consider the waters that the Lord has bathed in to be incredibly divine - and by extension, consider any object that the Lord has touched to be divine (have tirth-buddhi toward Him).

Someone who has these characteristics is someone who has considered the Satsang to be paramount to everything else, and is therefore a true Satsangi.

The evening Sabha concluded with a Swaminarayan Gadi Granth Parayan Purnahuti.
