The main part of the celebrations was a with a mass devotional dance, where young and old danced around the Murti of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa to please Him. Swamibapa Orchestra performed a medley of kirtans as the sabha encircled the Lord to dance with energy and enthusiasm.
Fuldolotsav (or Pushpadolotsav - festival of flowers) takes place on the day after Holi. All over India, these events are celebrated by spraying coloured water and powder over one another - representative of the beautiful spring flowers blossoming at this time of year. Although numerous myths and legends exist about the meaning and origins of the festival, for disciples of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, this festival is all about defeating the internal enemies - enemies that would otherwise obstruct one’s devotion to the Lord.
