Sunday 25th December saw the 2016 end of year annual Open Day at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury. The day brought together the entire community – both from the Mandir itself as well as our friends and neighbours – to take part in a range of fun and games, celebration and reflection.
From inflatables and karting for the youngest through to raffle prize draws for young at heart, the day had something for all ages and the entire family. As is tradition, the darts, table-tennis and pool finals were also played today, and trophies awarded to the worthy winners.
In keeping with the wonderful charity work carried out by the Mandir community throughout the year, the Open Day was used to collect food items on behalf of Sufra NW London - a community food bank and kitchen based in Brent that supports disadvantaged families suffering food poverty. This amazing charity provides a life-line for families who simply don’t have enough food to eat, and the Mandir was proud to have collected and delivered such a substantial food stock for them at an important time of year.
All the attendees enjoyed lunch together, which was an opportunity for all to reflect on another wonderful for the Mandir, and look forward to 2017.
