Gurupoonam celebrations at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury

An amazing seventy five boys and girls took part in a Swagat Yatra to honour Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa on Gurupoonam.

Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band led Jeevanpran Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj in a procession around the perimeter of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Complex. The parade arrived in the Mandir forecourt where the youngsters, dress splendidly in white, were awaiting with gifts of flowers, fruits and other ceremonial items. The Band and the Swagat yatra led our Gurus into the Mandir, who were lovingly held aloft in ornate palanquins, by disciples. Hundreds of disciples were eagerly awaiting Their darshan inside the Mandir.

Poojan and aarti were offered to Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj by the entire congregation after the Band paid their salutations and took their leave. Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s Ashirwad letter was then read out, followed by a specially prepared video that explained the importance of having a Guru and the significance of Gurupoonam.

The evening concluded with everyone having communal Prasad dinner.
