Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury Blood Donation - Sunday 13 April 2014

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury held its first Blood Donation Session at its new home. Many donors from beyond our own community - from the local area – joined the session. Not only did they take part in this important act of selfless giving, but they will have glimpsed the Mandir continuing to develop and hopefully had their appetite whetted for the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury Grand Opening festival in August - this session was part of the our much wider charity campaign in the lead up to August.

A total of 64 units were collected, bringing the Mandir community’s grand total to 1038 units, building on the previous ten successful sessions organised in Golders Green. Having now moved to Kingsbury, we will work towards inspiring more and more of the local community here to do something amazing and give blood, the most selfless of acts, to help save lives.

In the lead up to the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury Mandir Grand Opening festival, we will build on the already delivered charity events – Sport Relief and the first Blood Session – with the upcoming sponsored sky diving, swimming in the Lake District and a local bike ride, all under the inspiration of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s edict, “Dedicating one's life to the service of others is the truest celebration of a festival.”

The Grand Opening will be a magnificent six-day festival in August 2014 that will see evening concerts, street parades and other arts and cultural events for the entire family – all in celebration of the opening of Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury, a traditional Hindu temple, Purushottam Mahal, a state of the art multifunctional sports and events facility, and Abji Bapashree House, a local enterprise centre.
