Day eight of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Shatabdi Mahotsav commenced with HDH Acharya Swamishree performing mangla aarti to the Supreme Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.

At 7.15am Shangar Aarti was performed and Lord Swaminarayan, Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj, Shree Sahajanand Swami, Jeevanpran Bapashree and Jeevanpran Swamibapa gave darshan adorned in beautifully arranged flower garments. The aroma in the temple was full of sweet smelling flowers freshly picked, and woven by Swamibapa’s sants into the garments.

After Shangar Aarti, Acharya Swamishree initiated the scripture recital of Swamibapa Ni Vato, Part 2, and then went to the Suvarna Tula Samarak Bhavan (the Tower) for the daily procession.

From the Tower a grand parade led by Swamibapa Pipe Band, New Jersey arrived at the entrance gate of Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Maninagar. Acharya Swamishree gave darshan to the thousands lining the route seated on a silver chariot decorated with fresh flowers and drawn by two white horses. At the sabha mandap the Band formed the guard of honour and saluted Acharya Swamishree once he arrived on the stage.

Today saw the conclusion of the recital of Swamibapa Ni Vato, Part 1.

The benefactors offered gifts and showered Lord Swaminarayanbapa and Acharya Swamishree with gold and silver flower petals.

Acharya Swamishree's Divine Ashirwad

  • We are truly privileged to be living in the era of the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Shatabdi Mahotsav and to be able to take part in these unique celebrations. Seven days have already passed in the blink of an eye.
  • Yesterday, so many disciples pleased Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa in various ways during the ‘raas-ras-utsav’ (communal dancing). In the same way that Lord Shree Swaminarayan played raas with the disciples of Panchala, yesterday, He danced with all of you too.
  • Yesterday saw the commencement of the recital of the First Part of the Discourses of Jeevanpran Swamibapa, which we concluded today. Today, we have begun the recital of the Second Part of that scripture. This scripture is the treasury that contains the divine knowledge of Lord Shree Swaminarayan and Jeevanpran Bapashree. This scripture is the nectar that Jeevanpran Swamibapa showered on souls to rescue them from the pains of this world. It is the means by which one can become free from the poison of Maya. Anyone who wishes to attain salvation and the Anadi-mukta status in this very birth should read this scripture.
  • In this scripture, Swamibapa has taught us that only when the true greatness of God is understood, can genuine enthusiasm for Him arise. If one has a strong conviction for God, there is no fixed time to worship or meditate on Him – it is always an appropriate time. There should be no notion of, ‘I shall do it tomorrow’ or, ‘it will happen if it is God’s will.’ Such cowardly words should not even be spoken.
  • People have a tendency to place blame with God if things do not work out for them: they say, ‘it is not God’s will so it does not happen,’ but in reality it did not happen because they did not want it to happen! God does not like such opulent disciples.
  • When one faces difficulty in life, one should not just sit around and think it is due to the will of God. One should be brave and find a solution. Seeing such strength, God becomes pleased and offers His helping hand to such disciples. Many people think that by endeavouring [to find such solutions to difficulties] in this way, they are contravening the will of God. However, this is simply not true; it is like an ill person who just sits around and waits to die. Instead, an ill person should, and does, try to find a cure to his illness. Under no circumstances, should one be a coward and simply have a defeatist attitude that ‘it is the will of God.’
  • God has even prohibited associating with such a coward, and defined such an association as truly evil.
  • In the 7th Vachanamrut of the Gadhada First Section, Shreejimaharaj has stated that He wants to eradicate an evil influence that exists in the Satsang. God has defined that evil influence as those who speak with cowardice. Moreover, God has defined this cowardice talk as, ‘who is really able to obey the commands of the Lord? So, we should abide by as much as we are able. God is the redeemer of the extremely sinful and so He will grant us salvation anyway.’ Such cowards also say, ‘it is not in our hands whether we are able to contemplate the Murti of God within our hearts. A person can only contemplate the Lord’s Murti, if God showers His mercy on him.’ God has gone on to say, “By talking in such a feeble manner, such cowards weaken others’ pursuit of the religious decree, spiritual knowledge, asceticism and devotion. Hence, from today onwards, no-one in our Satsang should talk in such a cowardly manner. Always speak with courage. Whoever speaks with such feebleness should be regarded as being impotent. A complete fast should be observed on any day that such cowardly words are uttered.”
  • In accordance with these explicit commands of God, one should be brave and think, ‘God has put me in this difficulty because He wishes to test me.’ And with this understanding, one should endeavour to find a solution, and not cowardly sit around. God has no regard whatsoever for cowardly or apathetic disciples. The incredible courage shown by Jeevanpran Swamibapa throughout His life serves as a lesson to us all. If we become as brave as this, we will not even fear death.
  • By attempting to overcome difficulties in this way does not contravene the will of God in any way. If there is unrest in the Satsang, we should do whatever we can to calm it, to bring harmony and unity back. Furthermore, if there are any disturbances while we perform worship or meditation, we should try to eradicate them. However, we should not understand such difficulties to be as a result of God’s will and accept them.
  • Let us pray to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa: Oh Bapa! Give us Your divine strength so that we do not get swept away with any whirlwinds, in the form of difficulties, in the Satsang; but instead have the courage to rescue ourselves by performing endeavours such as abiding by Your commands and humbly praying to You.
