Day 4 - Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Shatabdi Mahotsav - Evening
Samvat 2063 Bhadarva Vad 9, Thursday 4th October 2007

Day 4 Main

The evening programme was composed, produced and performed by the disciples of Shree Muktajeevan Academy of Arts and Culture London. The musical “Vaah Swamibapa Vaah!” depicted the history of how Jeevanpran Swamibapa encouraged his disciples to emigrate to London and the hardships they endured upon their arrival to this ‘foreign’ land. The story was narrated by a teacher retelling history to his students on how Swamibapa gave strength and fortitude to the disciple that made this arduous transition. Central to the performance were a medley of kirtans based on events at Brent Town Hall and a depiction of the nagaryatra through the streets of Central London in 1970. The drama then progressed to the present day with a unique performance by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa’s sants, Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band and Shree Muktajeevan Dhol Academy combining their respective skills. This piece represented the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures that impact on the lives of the disciples of London.

Guest of Honour for the evening were Shree Askarbhai Mehta, High Court Judge and his wife Shreemati Dakshben Mehta.
