Sunday 21st August 2022 marked the final day of the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Bolton Suvarna Mahotsav, in commemoration of 50 years since Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa first set his divine lotus feet on English Soil in August of 1970, with the establishment of our roots and flourishing of our faith since.
The congregation celebrated the installation of the murtis of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj, Shree Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree and Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa in the beautiful golden sinhasan and the Anniversary of our Mandir.
The patotsav ceremony commenced with Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Maharaj leading the Shodsopachaar Poojan and Samarpan Vidhi. It was fantastic to see the Shree Swaminarayan Gadi family from across the UK come together on this auspicious occasion, and receive the divine darshan of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Gnaan Murti Bapa.
A Grand Annakut was placed before the Lord that included several sweet and savoury mouth-watering delicacies. Acharya Swamiji Maharaj and eminent Sants performed Aarti to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa before disciples had the opportunity to do the same.
Acharya Swamiji Maharaj was presented with an elegantly decorated celebration cake which was displayed on a beautiful stand. Accompanied by the thrilling sounds of the newly released Kirtans and the waving of commemorative flags by the entire community, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj cut a cake in celebration of our Suvarna Mahotsav.
In addition to this, there was a Rajat Suvarna Tula. By weighing our Gurudev Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, who is "Shreeji-Sankalp-Murti" or the will-manifest of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, we are in fact weighing Lord Shree Swaminarayan Himself. We recognize and understand that Lord Shree Swaminarayan, as the creator and cause of all things, is "atul" or incapable of being weighed. Quite simply, Lord Shree Swaminarayan and His will-manifest are incomparable.
Following on from this, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj blessed the disciples with His Divine Ashirwad on the final day of our grand celebrations.
A fantastic closing ceremony was held to conclude our 5 days of festivities. The highlights of the ceremony included a spectacular dance performance by our young devotees to a newly released Kirtan, accompanied by the energetic encouragements from the community. To round off the morning and complete the hand-over ceremony to the Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Suvarna Mahotsav commencing on 19th September 2022 in Maninagar Dhaam, all disciples from around the world were warmly invited to attend this once in a lifetime event to partake in the festivities and receive the divine blessings of Acharya Swamiji Maharaj. The community cheered and clapped in excitement for the lead up to upcoming mahotsav celebrations.
The afternoon was concluded with Mahaprasad.
At the conclusion of this Mahotsav, we pray to the almighty Lord to continue to give us the devotion, guidance, knowledge and strength to continue the flourishing of our community and satsang in Bolton and allow us to practice the mantra of “Society Before Self” through continuing to devote ourselves to the service of humanity.
