The Swaminarayan philosophy insists on pure, simple living and high thinking, which inspires people to put service to society, before themselves. Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey holds numerous medical events and campaigns throughout the year to provide service to the community and help others. For the seventh consecutive year, Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey hosted its annual health camp, in conjunction with the Indian Health Camp of New Jersey. This year’s was the largest and most successful health camp in IHCNJ and Shree Swaminarayan Temple history.

This year, Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey held its medical camp on Sunday, November 17th, 2013. Numerous community doctors, nurses, technicians, volunteers, and temple disciples worked together to provide other disciples and community members with numerous medical services. All patients received a free physical checkup, dental, vision, cancer screenings, and EKG checkups as well as full blood work at no cost. Volunteers from CarePoint Health & Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center ran free glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings for the patients. Rite Aid Pharmacy provided medical giveaways and Good Neighbor Pharmacy provided Influenza (flu) vaccinations.  Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli & New Jersey Assemblyman Gary S. Schaer attended the camp and were very impressed by the services provided. The numerous doctors, nurses, and disciples who had volunteered their services and time for this event served over 250 patients throughout the day, making this camp the largest health camp ever held at Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey. All patients were provided a complete breakfast and lunch.
