Mombasa Vicharan– 2012
On Wednesday 5th December 2012, HDH Acharya Swamishree arrived at Moi International Airport, Mombasa. He was welcomed by the mayor of Mombasa Mr. Ahmed Modhar, provincial police officer Mr. Adoli, OCPD Mr. Wanjohi, member of parliament Mr. William Ruto and Director/CEO of Logistical Brokers International Limited, Mr. Leonard Suchobrus.
As part of the ongoing celebration of the Shashtipurti Mahotsav of Nairobi Temple, HDH Acharya Swamishree performed scripture recitals on behalf of devotees residing in Mombasa on 6th December 2012. Hundreds of devotees had gathered at the conference hall at Indiana Beach Hotel- the venue for the gathering. HDH Acharya Swamishree showered His divine blessings upon the congregation. The next morning HDH Acharya Swamishree sant mandal and devotees went to Wild Waters and had a fun filled day.
Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan actively engages in social, welfare and environment conservation activities. While in Mombasa, HDH Acharya Swamishree visited Sahajanand Special School- Mtwapa to bless the physically challenged students and handed over a generous donation of 40 wheelchairs to the school and conducted a tree planting ceremony. He also visited Mombasa General Hospital and blessed the ailing patients at the hospital.
In the evening, a special gathering was held to celebrate a trio of events-Shaakotsav, HDH Acharya Swamishrees’ 70th birthday and samuh raas. A traditional Kenyan dance ‘ngoma’ commenced the multiple events of the evening. This was followed by the shaakotsav, birthday celebrations and samuh raas. Everyone had a delicious dinner of ‘rotla’ and aubergine curry.
A colorful rangotsav and panchamrut snaan was held on Sunday, 9th December 2012. Devotees bathed Shree Harikrishana Maharaj and HDH Acharya Swamishree with panchamrut. Hundreds of devotees and visiting tourists at the beach were sprinkled with the coloured water. On 10th December, HDH Acharya Swamishree and the travelling devotees returned back to Nairobi.
