Nairobi Temple - 59th Patotsav Celebrations
The Nairobi Swaminarayan Temple Patotsav Celebration is held on 26th December each year. The 59th Patotsav of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa was celebrated on Monday, 26th December 2011. In the early morning, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree performed Mangla Aarti to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa. During the patotsav ceremony Acharya Swamishree ceremoniously bathed Shree Harikrishna Maharaj with the five nectors and performed the patotsav ceremony. Disciples showered rose petals at the lotus feet of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.
A grand Ankoot was placed at the lotus feet of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa. Highly talented sants and devotees delicately arranged the array of sweets. Acharya Swamishree, sant mandal and every disciple performed the Ankoot aarti. A grande cake made for the occasion was cut by Acharya Swamishree and offered to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.
Muktajeevan Swamibapa showered His divine blessings to thousands of disciples who had gathered for the celebrations. His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree then showered His divine blessings upon the congregation.
In His Divine Asirwad, Acharya swamishree emphasized on the following points:-
- The Lord is more pleased when we worship Him through a congregation. Hence, the importance of a temple as a holy place to gather and worship The Lord.
- The ultimate aim (to please The Lord) of everyone should be the same; only then will one enjoy the true fruits of worship.
- There are two types of beings on this earth, theist and atheist. Theist treads on the good path and lives a happy life, while atheists never have a peace of mind. We should thus believe in God and always fear performing deeds that are harmful to others.
- One should learn to forgive and forget. In a society, it is natural to have misunderstandings amongst people. However, we should resolve any misunderstandings in an amicable manner, forgive each other and forget what had happened and move on, but never carry on our grudges.
