In remembrance of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, His spiritual successor, Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj has inspired a special period of commemoration to be held over five days. The Smruti Satra takes place from Friday 12 March 2021 until Tuesday 16 March 2021. This will coincide with the 77th patotsav ceremony of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj – Lord Shree Swaminarayan presiding in Maninagardham.

During this period of tribute, Sants and disciples will reminisce about the divine episodes, teachings and unsurpassed achievements of our beloved Acharya Swamishree Maharaj during His 41 years as spiritual leader of the Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. 

Recitals of Shree Rahasyarth Pradeepika Tika sah Vachanamrut, Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Leelamrut Sukhsagar, Shree Abji Bapashree ni Vato, Shree Harignanamrut Kavya as well as many other divine scriptures will be held on behalf of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan and disciples from all around the world.

During this auspicious occasion, Ved Ratna Acharya Shree Purushottampriya Swamishree Maharaj Smruti Suman - a special scripture collating Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s unsurpassed episodes, and the memories of Sants and disciples about Him - will be inaugurated. A website celebrating His life and times will also be launched.

On Monday 15 March 2021, Fagan Sud 2, it will be exactly 42 years since Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa appointed Shree Purushottampriya Swamishree Maharaj to be His spiritual heir and subsequent Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. The official Chadar Ceremony of Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj will be performed on this very special day. As part of this ceremony, Sages, Priests, and leaders of different denominations will offer shawls (Chadar) and garlands, and perform poojan to Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj.

On the final day, Tuesday 16 March 2021, Fagan Sud  3, Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj will perform the Panchamrut Snan ceremony of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj presiding in Maninagar Mandir to mark the 77th anniversary. 

As a conclusion to this period of special commemoration, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj will ceremonially immerse the divine ashes of Vishwa-vatsalya-mahodadhi Acharya Swamishree Maharaj into the Sabarmati River, which runs through the city of Ahmedabad.

This auspicious remembrance, comprising so many significant and historic facets, will be broadcast live so that thousands of disciples living all around the world can experience its divinity.
