The charming village of Kheda, on the banks of the Vatrak River, is the sacred site where Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa manifested upon the Earth in 1907 AD. With the inspiration of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, a magnificent Mandir was built at the exact location of Gurudev Swamibapa’s manifestation, and its grand opening took place in 1990.

Sunday 26 February 2023 marked 33 years since its opening, and a three day celebration was held on this occasion. Gnanmahodadhi Acharya Swamiji Maharaj travelled from Maninagardham and reached Kheda during the late afternoon of Friday 24 February. A bike rally was held welcoming Him to the Mandir. Acharya Swamiji Maharaj performed aarti and then recitals of the sacred scriptures, Shree Rahasyarth Pradeepika Tika sah Vachanamrut, Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Granth and Shree Abji Bapashree ni Vato were held.

During the morning assembly held on Saturday 25 February, a gathering of eminent Brahmins from the entire state of Gujarat was held, during which they were welcomed and honoured by Acharya Swamiji Maharaj on behalf of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. Kits containing food and clothing were donated to needy residents of Kheda, as part of the Patotsav celebrations. During this special assembly, the leader of this Brahmin society, Shri Samast Gujarat Brahm Samaj, and Matru Samaj Sanstha Kheda District, presented Acharya Swamiji Maharaj with the honorary title, Shree Sant Brahmarshi Ratna - Sacred Gem amongst the Virtuous Scholarly Sages.

During the afternoon, a grand procession was held from the formal entrance of the village, where in 2006, Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj opened a ceremonial gate, Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pravesh Dwar – during the procession Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and Acharya Swamiji Maharaj gave darshan from ceremonial elephants. The procession slowly proceeded through the narrow streets of Kheda, and ended in the forecourt of the Mandir.

On the patotsav day, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj performed the 33rd anniversary rituals to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, and then a grand annakut was offered. Disciples performed aarti to please the Lord.
