After a 52 day vicharan of East Africa, Gnan Mahodadhi Acharya Swamiji Maharaj returned to Maninagardham during the evening of 15 January 2023, where He was ceremonially welcomed by Sants and disciples, and led to the Mandir steps by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band Maninagar. During the period of this vicharan, He visited Kenya for the second time as Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, and also went to Uganda and Tanzania for the first time.

In 1952, Gurudev Swamibapa performed the Murti Pratishtha of the Lord presiding in Nairobi Mandir. This was the first Mandir outside of India of the supreme Karan Satsang. Seventy years have elapsed since this historic day. Additionally, 2023 marks 75 years since Gurudev Swamibapa graced the soil of East Africa and travelled by steamer to Mombasa, and then to Nairobi by train. History will always mention that it was Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa who was the first Sant of the entire Swaminarayan Sampraday to step foot outside of India; till then, it was considered as being forbidden. Thereby, it is due to the actions of our Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa that the Swaminarayan Faith has now spread to all regions of the globe. To mark both historical occasions, the disciples of East Africa celebrated the 70th patotsav ceremony of Nairobi Mandir and Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa East Africa Amrut Padarpan Mahotsav, in the divine presence of Acharya Swamiji Maharaj.

During this vicharan, and in remembrance of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, His sacred, divine ashes were ceremonially scattered in Lake Victoria and the Murchison Falls.

Most noteworthy was also the meeting of Gnan Mahodadhi Acharya Swamiji Maharaj and the President of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, C.G.H.
