Soon after Acharya Swamiji Maharaj returned from Smruti Mandir, having performed the Patotsav Vidhi there, He presided on His chariot before the awaiting Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band London (UK).

Today’s Pipe Band was somewhat unique for this Mahotsav - three generations of Band members formed the swagat. Retired members dusted off their tunics from the previous generation of the uniform; future Band members of the Cadet Corps lined up; and of course the sixty-plus current members played nostalgic tunes as Acharya Swamiji Maharaj's chariot entered. The past, present and the future of the Pipe Band were on display today.

The sponsoring disciple of the day performed poojan before the Band - which was substantial in size! - led Bapa into the Sabha Mandap. The Band saluted Lord Shree Swminarayan Bapa and Shree Swaminarayan Gadi during their performance before taking leave.

Shree Prashantswaroopdasji Swami briefly explained why today’s Band were so large in number - since it is the Band’s 50th anniversary the current Band were keen to bring the past and the future of the Band with them to this Mahotsav, to collectively thank Bapa for His continued inspiration and encouragement of the Band, which has gone from strength to strength under His leadership.

One of the Cadets was particularly excited at being involved today and said, “I can’t believe I got to come all this way from London to be in the Band. I can't wait to join the full Band and play at a jaghan like this. Everyone was saying it would be really hot, but I didn’t think it was that bad! Maybe it was Bapa being kind to us because us cadets are so young.”
