Day 4 Ladies Shibir - Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Suvarna Mahotsav

The fourth day of the ladies Shibir events saw sensational performances from the ladies of London and Bolton. A combination of superbly choreographed dances, kirtans and drama left the audience eager for more.

London’s show called, “Sampe Snehe Rahi Saathe” started with a prathna dance dedicated to our beloved Prem Murti Bapa. This was followed by a dance and live kirtan medley singing performed by nearly 60 ladies ranging from the ages of 5 to 80! Some of the participants for dancing and singing had the opportunity to perform the exact same dance they performed decades ago!

The final act depicted the childhood story of Lord Ghanshyam and the kandoi. The first part of the Shibir ended with a group finale and mass aarti on stage.

The ladies of Bolton led the second half of this afternoon Shibir with a compilation of harmonious kirtans, equipped fully with their own talented tabla and dhol players. It was lovely to see the ladies’ musical talents showcased as part of the Ladies’ Shibir programme.

This was followed by a series of dances in the bharatnatyam and kathak disciplines by dozens of the young ladies of Bolton. The elder generation of ladies performed a chhamar dance as well as young children performing their own dance - over three generations on stage taking the opportunity to perform at Maninagar!

Owing to the 5 day Mahotsav in Bolton just over a month ago, the groups were only able to hold a full group practice on 2 occasions. Judging by the precision and brilliance of their acts, you really couldn't tell!
