In remembrance of the divine memories imparted by Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj when He visited Saputara and made it a sacred place of pilgrimage, a three day Yatra was held there from 21 to 23 September 2021.
Exactly 20 years ago, beloved Vishwa-vatsalya-mahodadhi Acharya Swamishree Maharaj and a large group of Sants and disciples primarily from the Surat region went on a visit of Saputara.
Located in the Sahyadris, or Western Ghats, Saputara is a small hill station in the Dang district of Gujarat. Considered to be Gujarat’s only hill station, it is a popular resort to rest and relax, and is famed for its lush green forests, undulating mountains, dazzling waterfalls, dreamy winding roads, livid landscapes.
In remembrance of the divine memories imparted by Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj when He visited Saputara and made it a sacred place of pilgrimage, a three day Yatra was held there from 21 to 23 September 2021. Over 600 Sants and disciples from Gujarat and some even from abroad joined this Smruti Yatra, which had been inspired by His Divine Holiness Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriya Swamiji Maharaj.
Sants and disciples took this opportunity to visit the places where Sad-dharma Ratnakar Acharya Swamishree Maharaj visited previously, and also held sessions of religious discourses, meditation and kirtan bhakti to please the Lord. A special concert of devotional music was held during the evening of day 1, when some wonderful religious songs narrating the glory of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj were sung by some the highly talented vocalists of Gujarat.
During the evening of day 2, an assembly was held during which Acharya Swamiji Maharaj described the purpose of holding such excursions and Shibirs, and retold some of the stories of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj and His glory. Several local dignitaries were present during this assembly, and they were honoured by Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, and thanked for their help and support during this Smruti Yatra.
