Day 3 Morning - Ved Ratna Acharya Shree Purushottampriya Swamiji Maharaj Smruti Satra

The third day of Acharya Shree Purushottampriya Swamishree Maharaj Smruti Satra commenced after the Shangar Aarti. Disciples presented Acharya Swamiji Maharaj with new regal robes and mugat for Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj, which had been made with pure gold. These were then brought into the assembly by the disciples for everyone’s darshan, before Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj adorns them on the following day.

After continuing the recital of the Rahasyarth Pradeepika Tika sah Vachanamrut scripture, the conclusion ceremony of the recitals of Shree Abji Bapashree ni Vato Parts 1 and 2 were performed. Sants and disciples performed aarti on behalf of the thousands of disciples around the world on whose behalf the recitals had been held.

During the first three evenings of this Smruti Satra, a recital of Shree Harignanamrut Kavya was held. During the video darshan of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s divine blessings, given in 2014 in London, He described the glory of Shree Harignanamrut Kavya, and explained that just as Lord Shree Swaminarayan distilled the essence of 365 ancient Hindu scriptures into the 212 verses of the Shikshapatri, Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa distilled the superlative philosophy of the Vachanamrut, the Rahasyarth Pradeepika Tika and Shree Abji Bapashree ni Vato, in a superlative scripture of poems in the Shree Harignanamrut Kavya.

In His divine blessings, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj further elaborated on the glory of Shree Harignanamrut Kavya and described how these kirtans are beneficial for a disciple to find spiritual peace and to gain a union with the supreme Lord Shree Swaminarayan.

Acharya Swamiji Maharaj described the qualities that were inherent within Gurudev Swamibapa and gave numerous examples of how all these were also inherent within Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj. Whilst travelling throughout the world for the preservation and propagation of the Faith, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj inspired disciples to give generously. All of this wealth was used solely for the benefit of society. Even though being occupied in all these activities, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj remained firm in His adherence of His daily vows and prayer schedules. He had no enmity for anyone, not even those who had deep jealously for Him and were actively attempting to defame Him. His enthusiasm for fulfilling the spiritual desires of disciples and to serve humanity was unparalleled, and even at a senior age. His enthusiasm in that regard was that of someone just half His age. His kindness and compassion was unique; His smile changed countless lives. Others would be scared of going near sick individuals, yet Acharya Swamishree Maharaj had only one desire - to console them. Such were the virtues inherent within World Peace Ambassador Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, and which provide a teaching to us all to improve our lives and behaviours, and to progress towards the supreme Lord.

A number of Sants and disciples then recalled and narrated their experiences of Sad-dharma-ratnakar Acharya Swamishree Maharaj. These included speeches from Yogacharya Swamishree Akhileshji Acharya from Haridwar, Shastri Shree Shri Anilbhai from Varanasi and Mahamandalveswar Swami Keshwanandji Maharaj, Rashtriya Maha-mantri of the Akhil Bharat Sadhu Samaj.

The morning assembly concluded with recital of the Sansmaran kirtan and dhoon.

Day 3 Kirtan Bhakti - Ved Ratna Acharya Shree Purushottampriya Swamiji Maharaj Smruti Satra

The evening’s events once again saw Sants performing the kirtans composed by Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa contained in Shree Harignanamrut Kavya. During the mid-1960s, Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa retold the episode of disciple Amba Sheth from the village of Gadhadi. This detailed recollection of the devotion and dedication of Amba Sheth took the form of a commentary and devotional kirtans. This continued every Sadguru Din for nearly two years. These kirtans depicting the devotional love of Amba Sheth, and his commitment to please Lord Shree Swaminarayan has been captured in several kirtans of Shree Harignanamaurt Kavya. The original commentary orated by Gurudev Swamibapa was recited, and all these kirtans were sung during this evening.

Throughout, Gurudev Swamibapa and Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj presided upon a magnificent hindola (ceremonial swing) decorated with flowers. At the end of the evening, Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s Sants sang kirtans about the Lord being seated on a hindolo, evoking wonderful memories for all of the many times Acharya Swamishree Maharaj bestowed such divine darshan presiding on a swing.
