The second day of Acharya Shree Purushottampriya Swamishree Maharaj Smruti Satra commenced immediately after Mangla Aarti. As part of Shree Sadguru Din commemorations, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj and Sants performed dhyaan, kirtan bhakti and dhoon in Brahm Mahol. Following Shangar Aarti, the conclusion ceremony of the recital of the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Leelamrut Sukhsagar scripture took place. This three-part biography of Gurudev Swamibapa was written by His beloved spiritual heir, Sanatan-dharma-sanrakshak Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.
Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa revolutionised the entire Swaminarayan Faith. He was the pioneer who commenced the spread of the Faith throughout the world. He taught to combine religion with charity, establishing numerous projects for the benefit of society. By Lord Shree Swaminarayan's direct command, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa gave a physical embodiment to the Lord's supreme, divine throne, Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. However, to achieve this, Gurudev Swamibapa had to endure immense suffering. All of incredible endeavours by Gurudev Swamibapa are described in this three-part biography. The first section (Pratham Pravah) describes the events from His manifestation till the time when His Guru, Sadguru Shree Ishwarcharan Swamibapa departed from this mortal world. The middle section (Madyam Pravah) retells how Gurudev Swamibapa started to lead the Faith until 1957, when Sants and disciples celebrated His Golden Jubilee. The final part (Uttam Pravah) narrates Gurudev Swamibapa’s deeds from 1957 to 1979, when He handed over the leadership of the Faith to His spiritual heir, Acharya Shree Purushottampriya Swamishree Maharaj, before departing this mortal world.
A video of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s divine blessings given in 1997, during the silver jubilee of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, was shown. During this, the glory of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, and the greatness of Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa were extensively and eloquently described.
The divine blessings of Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa were then heard during which He narrated the significance of dhyaan and how Shree Sadguru Din should be used as a barometer, to measure one’s progress towards the Lord from month to month.
In His divine blessings, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj talked about the immense affinity that Sanatan-dharma-sanrakshak Acharya Swamishree Maharaj had for spiritual literature, and how He remained committed to compiling and publishing texts for the preservation and propagation of the true, sublime Swaminarayan philosophy, as well as other books for the benefit of society.
Acharya Swamiji Maharaj described many instances about Vishwa-vatsalya-mahodadhi Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s generosity for all facets of society, and furthermore, even during the most difficult of situations, how He remained eager to spread the name of His eminent Guru, Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa. Acharya Swamiji Maharaj’s Ashirwad explained that due to the command given by Gurudev Swamibapa to look after and flourish the Faith, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj was instrumental in spreading Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan throughout the world. To fulfil the promise that He had given to His Gurudev, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj tolerated the abuse of others, and like a mother endures pain so that her children do not suffer, with a smiling face, He accepted the pain so that His disciples would not have to.
Just as during the first morning of the Smruti Satra day, several Sants and disciples narrated their memories and experiences of World Peace Ambassador Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, and how He had transformed countless lives and led them onto the path of spirituality.
The morning assembly concluded with kirtan bhakti and dhoon.
The evening session continued with Sants singing the devotional songs comprised by Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, contained in Shree Harignanamrut Kavya. Sad-dharma-ratnakar Acharya Swamishree Maharaj was proficient in both classical dance and music. Not only had He learnt to play the dilruba to please Gurudev Jeevanpran Swamibapa, He also performed devotional dances. Whilst singing devotional songs, He sometimes became so overcome with joy that He would start to dance. This unique darshan delighted everyone who was fortunate enough to experience it, and created truly indelible memories for all. As the evening of devotional singing was reaching its conclusion, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj and all the Sants and disciples in the audience took to their feet and started to dance, much like the way in which Prem Murti Acharya Swamishree Maharaj had delighted everyone on so many occasions.
