Wednesday 12 August 2020 marked exactly 100 years since the establishment of Shree Satsang Mahasabha.
On Janmashtami, Samvat 1976 (1920 A.D.), Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree established the Satsang Mahasabha, and appointed Sadguru Shree Ishwarcharandasji Swamibapa as its head. The purpose of this Organisation was to protect the administration and assets of the Swaminarayan Faith, and prevent the generous donations made by disciples from becoming personal property of individuals. Gurudev Swamibapa likened the Satsang Mahasabha to be like an immensely strong, golden safe, to keep the assets of the Faith protected, and to ensure the supreme tenets and philosophy of Lord Shree Swaminarayan remained flourishing, just as He had intended.
Wednesday 12 August 2020 marked exactly 100 years since the establishment of Shree Satsang Mahasabha. This is the oldest of the Trusts under which Maninagardham is governed. In celebration of this centenary, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj performed adoration to Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree and Sadguru Shree Ishwarcharandasji Swamibapa, and a recital was held by all the Sants of the book documenting the history of the Organisation, called Shree Satsang Mahasabha. This historical precis was inspired by the fifth Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and published by Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan in 2017. This book describes the facts behind the reasons for its establishment, and the hardships endured by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa as he remained firm in upholding the principles of the Satsang Mahasabha.
