Following on from the immense success of the Jeevan Ghadtar Satsang Shibir series of events held in 2004 throughout the world, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree inspired a three-day event whilst presiding in London.
Jeevan Ghadtar Satsang Shibir London 2005 saw over 500 young and old participants take part in a range of events. Activities included religious and cultural events, such as Pooja and Kirtan singing, as well as developmental activities to nurture core skills such as team building, public speaking and leadership.
Evening events incorporated a number of awards ceremonies to recognise achievements in mainstream education, Gujarati language and sports that were attained by the disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Santhan. This year alone saw twelve members of the London temple achieving top-grade passes in GCSE Gujarati. Excellence awards were given to those who gained particularly outstanding achievements in education: a noteworthy recipient of such recognition was a young girl who gained twelve GCSEs, seven at A* grade and five at grade A.
To ensure that the memories and learning gained during this Shibir and the Shibir of 2004 always remain with those who participated, Acharya Swamishree gave a gift of a DVD to every household that was represented at the 2005 Shibir. The DVD contained highlights of the previous years’ Jeevan Ghadtar Satsang Shibir event held between the 26th and 28th of August 2004.
